Welcome to Sparsholt C of E Primary School’s Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) page. We are a mainstream school who strive to provide the best learning opportunities for all children. Our core values of Courage, Compassion and Creativity promote and underpin our inclusive school community.
The school, including the governing body, recognises that all children are individuals who have different learning needs. Many children may experience some difficulty in their learning at some time during their education. Often Quality First Inclusive Teaching will mean that most children overcome their difficulties quickly and easily. However, a few children will need additional support for some or all of their time in school.
Children may need extra help because of a range of needs such as:
- Cognition and learning, particularly relating to literacy and numeracy
- Communication and Interaction
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health
- Sensory or Physical Needs
We work hard to ensure all children are given the right balance of support and challenge provision within the school.
Our SENCo is Mrs Jane Gwilliam and our SEND Governor is Mr Howard Firth
